NFA's forskning i muskel- og skeletbesvær og fysisk arbejdsbelastning

NFA ønsker med forskningsprogrammet om muskel- og skeletbesvær og fysisk arbejdsbelastning at skabe viden, som bidrager til sunde og sikre arbejdspladser, hvor arbejdstagere undgår arbejdsbetinget muskel- og skeletbesvær samt bibeholder en høj arbejdsevne.

Forskningen i muskel- og skeletbesvær (MSB) og fysiske arbejdsbelastninger omfatter både faktorer, der kan bidrage til at udvikle eller forværre muskel- og skeletbesvær og faktorer, der kan forebygge og reducere belastninger.

NFA prioriterer forskningen indenfor to centrale temaer

Fysiske arbejdsbelastninger, forebyggelse og håndtering af muskel- og skeletbesvær

Forskningen vil undersøge, hvilke fysiske arbejdsbelastninger der kan bidrage til at udvikle eller forværre muskel- og skeletbesvær og faktorer, der kan forebygge, reducere og håndtere belastninger.

Forskningen i forebyggelse og håndtering af muskel- og skeletbesvær på arbejdspladser vil indebære undersøgelser af, hvilke konkrete tiltag, der er effektive i forhold til at forebygge og håndtere muskel- og skeletbesvær på arbejdspladser, samt hvilke tiltag, der i praksis kan implementeres, og hvilke faktorer, der er væsentlige for, at de lykkes.

Derudover vil forskningen undersøge, hvordan arbejde kan tilrettelægges, så det i sig selv fremmer sundhed og fysisk arbejdskapacitet (positiv ergonomi).

Arbejdsfastholdelse, herunder tilbagevenden til arbejde efter langvarigt sygefravær

Der sigtes mod at frembringe pålidelig viden om dosis-respons sammenhænge for fysiske belastninger i arbejdet samt viden om potentielt betydelige risikofaktorer for muskel- og skeletbesvær og de mulige konsekvenser for arbejdstagernes arbejdsevne, sygefravær og tilbagevenden til arbejde.

NFA vil desuden udvikle tekniske metoder til at måle ergonomiske faktorer og fysiske belastninger i arbejdet i tæt samarbejde med danske arbejdspladser.
I forskningen om arbejdsfastholdelse vil der gennemføres registerundersøgelser med henblik på at belyse, hvilke faktorer relateret til muskel- og skeletbesvær og fysiske arbejdsbelastninger, der har betydning for fravær og tilbagevenden til arbejdet og fravær, der fører til afgang fra arbejdsmarkedet.
